One of the original supergroups has reunited for the new video/single “This Shit Right Here,” featured on Ras Kass’s “A.D.I.D.A.S.” album. This is the first collaboration in a few years between Ras Kass, Killah Priest, Canibus, and Kurupt – and it’s a memorable one. The video balances the member’s original “characters” (pestilence, death, war, famine) with lyrical references, and the result is a mix of gothic and contemporary horror. More content for our “A.D.I.D.A.S.” pre-release marketing blitz – the official video of the aforementioned “Goldyn Chyld II” single. Director Jason Espat and director of photography Rusty Rayburn gave me some outstanding footage to work with, and the multiple settings add a great dynamic to the video as well. The design elements were a natural fit – I wanted the entire video to appear “awash” in gold. This is the second video release off the “A.D.I.D.A.S.” album, and fans can expect more to come shortly. Electrolightz “Techno Jeep” Remix

Another under-the-radar banger from the Electrolightz! Here, they’ve gotten ahold of Julian Smith’s viral sensation “Techno Jeep.” Unsurprisingly, NameBrand destroys the beat with a couple verses. This was a low-tech outing for me – just some creative placement of footage - but the showcase here without question is NameBrand’s performance.

Goldyn Chyld II Vinyl Cover

Artwork for the Limited Edition vinyl of the Goldyn Chyld II single (featuring DJ Rhettmatic, and produced by Leaf). Billed as a “Double A-Side,” the 12″ vinyl also includes the much talked-about “Save the Ras Kass” single. Both will be available on the upcoming “ADIDAS” album, scheduled for release on July 20th. For some added flare, the actual vinyl was pressed on translucent “gold” plastic. Gotta love the branding synergy, with Ras sporting the official Goldyn Chyld T-Shirt as well (also available). Ras Kass & Royce Da 5′9″ – “Attitudes 2012″ Video & Single

Another A.D.I.D.A.S. appetizer – this time with Slaughterhouse’s own Royce Da 5′9″ joining Ras on the track. “Attitudes 2012″ is an update to Rumpletilskinz’ 1993 classic, and is produced by C SIK and Sick Jacken – just some of the many contributors to the forthcoming A.D.I.D.A.S. album. As you can see, the video is a walking copyright infringement case…with flashes of “Predator,” “Psycho,” and “Full Metal Jacket,” the video a crude, angry mix of photos, movie clips, and Ras’s personal flipcam footage. Keep an eye out for cameos by the likes of KRS-One, Xzibit, Taje, Canibus, 40 Glocc, Chuck D, and more. Guerilla production (ahem) at its finest….and perfect for those of you haven’t taken your Ritalin yet this morning.

Goldyn Chyld & Endangered Lyricist apparel

We are in full-court press with the A.D.I.D.A.S. and Save the Ras Kass campaigns. Two items for fans to look forward to are the following T-shirts, Goldyn Chyld and Endangered Lyricist. “Goldyn Chyld,” of course, remains one of Ras Kass’s defining songs – a “sequel” is arriving shortly as a music video and limited edition vinyl. Meanwhile, the Endangered Lyricist concept ties in directly with our Save the Ras Kass marketing strategy – episode 2 of STRK is currently being edited. It’s readily obvious that our design for Endangered Lyricist is a BIG tip of the cap to Public Enemy founder (and recent Ras Kass cohort) Chuck D. Rumor has it that the “Rhyme Animal” might make an appearance on the upcoming A.D.I.D.A.S. album? Don’t touch that dial….

Here’s a group I’m looking forward to future projects with, having been brought into the fold by the human Swiss Army knife himself, Donnie Bo Sibley of Avatar Management. For starters, this is just a quick branding bumper to be attached to future projects. If you’re not familar yet with Those Chosen, here’s the story:

THOSE CHOSEN- an avant garde hip-hop group known for their street influenced, politically fueled, spiritual lyricism consists of Japetto, Kornbread and Foreshadow. The trio’s common love for music helped form a musical brotherhood that has Those Chosen on a journey to become the premiere influence within music.
